The last time the Bulls hired a coach during the Finals, like the rest of you, I found out through Woj. In my case, Woj walked right up and told me, in Boston at the Finals, I didn't have to check Twitter on my phone and couldn't, it was 2010 and Blackberry and Twitter didn't really get along.
Chicago's choice was Tom Thibodeau, and like my choice of smartphone (my first, switched from a flip-phone four months earlier), I was well-pleased! This is not the part where I compare Tom Thibodeau's coaching style to the ease and familiarity of a clicking keyboard.
The Bulls were combustible back then, a pile of accessible ammunitions covered by Vinny Del Negro's soaked-shawl coaching approach. The 2025-26 Bulls showcased none of the appeal of those 2009-10 Chicago Bulls, lacking in comparative star power, depth, verve, likability, talent, uh, what else, height, wingspan. Potential. Toss in likability again.
Love the Bulls, of course. But, like, one guy on the team. Maybe two, but two is injured.
