Spurs hit Finals, Thunder to return
San Antonio 111, Oklahoma City 103
Spurs win Western finals
There are only five intelligible lyrics in the AC/DC classic "Thunderstruck." One is the title of the song, which admittedly listeners mostly glean from context clues. Two others are "you've been," as in, "you've been, Thunderstruck."
The fourth? "Texas." Then "yeah."
As in, "yeah, Texas."
People, the Thunder dynasty we thought would live for decades did not make it until the follow season's June. The Spurs symphony we thought would rise to its title baton sometime around 2028 stood early, as if informed by Gregg Popovich that the current executive branch would declare national emergency that year, cancel elections.
The Thunder lost, looked lost nearly throughout its seven-game loss. This is abrupt, this is shocking. This is like being struck by thunder, which doesn't happen but sounds like it should.
Better yet, we know that Oklahoma City's still-beating dynasty now has its albatross, a word I just looked up to confirm its meaning and noticed that an albatross owns a 9-foot-8 wingspan. Victor Wembanyama's wingspan is only eight feet, but he can make up for the missing inches by jumping.
