Detroit lives, Spurs stick

Howdy! We need gas money to drive to the 2026 NBA Finals, a subscription to OnHoops helps us get a few miles closer.

Forgot about road diligence. One set of clothes, small suitcase, one night, one purpose. One vision, turning opponents into fried chicken.

Sometimes it is easier to function out there, to concentrate, to turn a basketball game into a string of singular possessions instead of a two-hour sporting event. Detroit already showed us what they think of being up against the wall, the Spurs only revealed to us what we should expect from them now on.

Detroit 115, Cleveland 94

Series tied, 3-3

Pistons did it again, strolled into another team's arena on a Friday night and saved all of 2025-26. This is no way to live a life, dangling over the edge until the toes curl, but it does have the Pistons five wins away from Detroit's first NBA Finals in over two decades.

Detroit wanted to keep playing, Cavaliers didn't want to do what it took to win, to deter Detroit from driving. The Cleveland defense was imprecise, lacking in pressure in problem areas, while Detroit ran its rotation to perfection.
